First 5 Hawaiʻi is a mobile-responsive website that features an eligibility screener tool that helps families quickly identify state and federal programs they may qualify for—including child care assistance, home visiting, food support, and health services.
By centralizing critical information in one accessible location, First 5 Hawaiʻi is designed to empower parents and caregivers to take the next step in securing the support their children may need during the critical early years.
Through the PDG B-5 funding, Kamaʻaina Kids has been able to expand access to care for infants and toddlers for eligible children in communities on Maui and Oʻahu, where there is a desperate need for care. PDG B-5 funding played a critical role in addressing the shortage of affordable, high-quality care to support and serve our youngest children during the most crucial period of brain development. Having predictable funding sources allows our programs opportunities to invest in continuous quality improvements, support our infrastructure, and strategically plan for the future.
The H.E.L.P. Resource Kit is designed with the needs of child care providers in mind, offering a comprehensive suite of tools and resources that streamline operations and enhance the quality of care. It is a one-stop shop toolkit for early childhood policies, regulations, guidance, discounts, and more - designed to save you time, lower costs, and enhance quality. Currently, over 270 early care and education providers have registered as users.
