Understanding the current and future needs along with the inequities within children's lives can guide our state's goals and strategies to improve the early childhood system. This grant aims to complete a new needs assessment report to inform meaningful cross-sector and collaborative engagement process to also reassess and revise our plan’s priorities, strategies, and indicators of success.

Understanding family preferences for early care and learning options, with special focus on families of vulnerable children

The needs assessment encompassed multiple methods of stakeholder input, data collection and review, including the following components: a “Risk and Reach Analysis” used to identify critical needs and gaps in programs reaching vulnerable populations of families with young children, a System Assessment with key stakeholders that included interviews, a Resource Map of funding for programs serving children birth to age five
